Hilton Head, SC Holiday Vacation Rental Ideas: Creating a Festive Home Away From Home

About 47% of surveyed people plan on traveling during the holidays. As a property owner in a prime travel destination, it's time for you to start preparing your holiday vacation rental for holiday guests! Are you ready?

Getting a rental ready for the holidays doesn't have to be complicated. We're here to break down a few things that can help you prepare for the holiday season. Read on to learn more.

Consider the Needs of Your Guests

When you're planning on guests for the holiday season, you need to consider what their needs might be. Holiday vacation rental amenities can be the same as normal vacation rental amenities, but why not go the extra mile to make your guests as comfortable as possible?

Consider cooking. Is your guest going to have people over for the holiday? Or are they perhaps going to need to cook something to bring to a holiday gathering?

If that's the case, they'll need all of the cooking tools required to cook or bake their favorite holiday goodies. You don't have to go overboard but try to have a fully stocked kitchen with all of the necessities.

Will they want to watch holiday movies? Make sure you have your television set up with the option to log into streaming services.

These are just two examples. Think of the things you need during the holiday season and try to offer them to your guests.

Keep it Festive, But Neutral

It's tempting to go all-out with holiday vacation rental decor, and you can certainly do that, but it will make your home more "niche." People who love decorations will stay there, but you'll be limiting your overall customer base.

We recommend adding a few festive winter touches rather than going all-out for a specific holiday. Remember that not everyone celebrates Christmas, so you don't want to make anyone uncomfortable.

However, it isn't a bad idea to leave extra decorations, like lights, trees, and even a menorah (and notes on how to use them) in a closet so guests can choose to put them up or not.

Leave Extra Goodies

Speaking of leaving extra things around, consider leaving extra goodies for the holidays. This can include things like cookies (or cookie ingredients in a jar so guests can make their own if they like), a bottle of wine or sparkling juice, or candy canes.

These small touches will make the space seem more inviting and make you seem like a more generous host.
